Volunteer Program with MAREBLU 

If you’re passionate about purposeful tourism, Punta Leona offers you the chance to participate in a volunteer program in partnership with the MAREBLU Environmental Conservation Organization. Located within our facilities, MAREBLU provides a meaningful adventure experience focused on environmental conservation. Their initiatives include beach cleanups, which have removed over 400 tons of plastic from the sea, as well as the construction and placement of regenerative reefs, social programs, and other eco-friendly projects.

Scientific Tourism Program 

At Punta Leona, we are dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and contributing to nature conservation. Our resort serves as a natural laboratory, equipped to bridge scientific research with tourism to promote environmental regeneration through education. 

Our Activities Include:

  • Scientific Research Programs: Collaborating with academic institutions, NGOs, and government bodies to address specific scientific issues within our reserve. 
  • Scientific Explorations: Encouraging scientific visits to gather valuable data from our unique environment. 
  • Dissemination of Knowledge: Supporting the spread of scientific findings by providing logistical assistance. 
  • Species and Event Observation: Facilitating firsthand observations for students and scientists of species or events of interest. 
  • University Partnerships: Partnering with international universities such as James Madison University and Texas A&M, as well as national institutions like UCR, UNA, and UNED, to support and advance scientific research.
